more productive place. As part of the Energy, Resilience and Sustainability
(ERS) Division, you will collaborate with experts to provide comprehensive
policy, planning, and implementation services addressing critical needs in
support of our federal clients.
The
ERS Division is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to support
our Marine Corps clients by providing specialized project management for a
portfolio of microgrid projects. As a Principal Microgrid Project Manager, you
will work closely with senior Marine Corps leaders and installation level staff
to conceptualize and develop complex projects delivering microgrid solutions to
address installation energy security requirements. You will represent the
client by providing design input, advising on technical decisions, and
coordinating project execution efforts. This position is remote. Travel for
this position is expected to be 25%.
Key Responsibilities:
·Deliver microgrid solutions to Marine Corps installations that
enable operations of mission critical facilities for extended duration when
without commercial power.
·Manage multiple microgrid projects simultaneously in support of
Marine Corps installations functioning as an owner’s representative. Activities
include developing conceptual microgrid implementation plans, providing
technical input during initial scoping, reviewing design drawings and
specifications, reviewing contractual documents including scope of work and
cost estimates, collaborating with stakeholders (e.g., installation engineers
and energy managers, execution agents, contracting officers, third party
contractors and vendors), overseeing construction and commissioning, and
monitoring performance.
·Inform procedures and witness ongoing testing (e.g., black start
exercises) of microgrid systems.
·Develop best practices and technical guidance leveraging lessons
learned for Marine Corps installations implementing microgrid technologies,
covering design, operational, and sustainment considerations.
·Communicate complex technical concepts, including microgrid
operations and requirements, to key stakeholders and senior leadership through
tailored written and verbal means, including information papers, briefings, and
presentations.
·Travel to project sites as needed to participate in stakeholder
meetings and monitor progress and performance
Basic Qualifications:
·Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Business, or
related discipline with 10 years of directly related experience.
·Experience developing, designing, or constructing microgrid or
electrical utility distribution systems.
·Results oriented with track record of delivering complex energy
projects.
·Strong attention to detail with excellent time management, project
management, follow through and communication skills.
·Capability to work as a member of a team as well as be a
self-motivator with ability to work independently in both a virtual and
in-person environment.
·The candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US
Government Common Access Card (CAC) for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Master’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, Business, or related
discipline.
·Knowledge of Navy and Marine Corps structure and operations.
·Experience with Department of Defense construction, contracting
vehicles, and legal authorities.
·Experience conducting power flow analysis and modeling.
