OVERALL DESCRIPTION:

  • This position is responsible for the sales and marketing of parts throughout the company. This position will work closely with procurement on managing parts inventory levels. The primary function of this role is to drive profitable parts sales growth through strategic pricing, marketing programs, and customer engagement, while also ensuring inventory is optimized to meet demand.
  • Key responsibilities include managing supplier relationships and implementing sales-driven marketing strategies to maximize revenue. The ideal candidate will excel in sales leadership, have a strong background in parts marketing and have a strong understanding of collaboration across departments to manage inventory levels accordingly with procurement, and aligning with business growth goals.
  • This role involves collaboration across departments, including purchasing, operations, service, and finance, to improve efficiency while maintaining a strong customer focus. Additionally, this position will oversee the company’s ERP system (Acumatica) for parts data management, pricing updates, and forecasting. Travel to vendor locations, warehouses, or other company facilities may be required based on business needs.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Drive parts sales and marketing initiatives to maximize revenue.
  • Implement and manage strategic pricing models to maintain profitability.
  • Maintain accurate pricing and inventory data within the ERP system.
  • Collaborate across departments to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction. Including, parts procurement and vendor relationships with a focus on sales growth.
  • Develop and oversee e-commerce expansion strategies for online parts sales.
  • Monitor and enhance inventory turnover and operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sales & Marketing Focus
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive profitable parts sales and expand market share.
    • Create and execute competitive marketing programs to maximize inventory turnover and increase revenue.
    • Analyze industry trends, customer demand, and competitor pricing to optimize sales performance.
    • Partner with the sales and customer service teams to ensure alignment on sales initiatives and promotional strategies.
    • Build and strengthen relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing and exclusive promotions.
  • Pricing Strategy & Profitability
    • Develop and manage strategic pricing models to maintain competitive and profitable parts sales.
    • Monitor cost fluctuations and margins, adjusting pricing strategies as needed to ensure profitability.
    • Oversee rebates, returns, and credits to ensure the company receives all eligible incentives from suppliers.
  • Data & System Management
    • Maintain and update vendor pricing data, product status, and inventory records within the ERP system (Acumatica).
    • Lead enhancements in inventory forecasting and sales analytics to improve demand planning.
    • Oversee the setup and management of e-commerce platforms, such as Amazon or equivalent, to expand sales channels.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration
    • Work closely with customer service, procurement, warehouse, sales, and service teams to ensure seamless operations.
    • Support the accounting team in resolving pricing discrepancies, purchase order issues, and supplier invoicing challenges.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers, managing vendor relationships and contract negotiations.
    • Collaborate with parts procurement, purchasing, and supplier negotiations with a focus on supporting sales initiatives.
      • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet sales demand while minimizing overstock and slow-moving inventory.
      • Manage warehouse transfers, order fulfillment, and logistics to ensure efficient delivery of parts.
      • Conduct inventory audits, track variances, and implement corrective actions to reduce inventory discrepancies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sales Leadership: Proven track record of driving sales growth and market expansion in a parts-related industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in turf maintenance equipment, automotive, or related industries preferred.
  • Procurement & Inventory Management: Strong background in purchasing, vendor negotiations, and inventory control.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (Acumatica preferred), Microsoft Excel (advanced), and CRM tools.
  • Customer-Focused: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to support both internal teams and external clients.
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Minimum of three years of leadership experience in parts sales, purchasing, or inventory management.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
