Job Summary:
The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service working with residential loans serviced by First State Bank. This individual must adhere to all bank policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines. This position is responsible for processing daily payments and payoffs received by mail, reviewing and scanning insurance documents, maintaining the Bank’s charge off checking account process, assisting with daily escrow functions, and answering customer calls and emails.
This position is not a remote position, nor does it have the option of being a hybrid position.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday and Saturdays as scheduled.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
§ Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interpret and meet the needs of the customers and conduct relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bank.
§ Process customers loan payments.
§ Answer incoming phone calls and resolve customer inquiries.
§ Manage requests for pay off statements.
§ Process payoffs to ensure timely application.
§ Maintain records and documentation via Aurora Documents imaging system.
§ Fold and send monthly escrow notices and other mailings.
§ Maintain paid off files and send final documents to customers.
§ Scan and maintain all pertinent documentation on recently purchased mortgages.
§ Review insurance policies for adequate coverage.
§ Scan insurance documents to electronic file.
§ Maintain/update information on the core data system, as necessary.
§ Assist the Escrow Specialist with updating the system with escrow insurance bill information.
§ Manage the bank’s charge-off checking processes.
§ Review new loan escrow checkback.
§ Refer overdrawn checking accounts to collection services and balance accounts with these providers.
§ Crosstrain on other department activities.
§ Other duties or special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
§ Computer proficiency, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
§ Excellent communication (written and verbal)
§ Ability to provide customers with courteous friendly service
§ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
§ Detail orientated with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
§ Proven ability to work both independently and as a team member.
§ Self-starter with the ability to make sound decisions based upon departmental and bank policies, procedures, knowledge, and experience.
Experience and Education:
§ One or two years of relevant work experience, preferably banking or financial services.
§ Experience with Fiserv Premier a benefit but not required.
§ Prior work experience in customer service a plus.
§
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
Physical Requirements:

Pay: $16.00 to $25.00 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience.
