Job Requirements
Provide oversight of major programs which can include safety for general industry, Waste Management, Air and SPCC Compliance.
Partner with operations to build employee engagement by active participation in plant tailboards and operational meetings.
Drive EHS risk recognition and mitigation by assessing and communicating physical, operational, and regulatory risks related to EHS matters. Participate in audits (internal and external) and facilitate closure of corrective actions.
Support continuous learning through identification of EHS best practices and timely and relevant communications.
Serve as a catalyst for continuous improvement through EHS assessments, event and trend analyses.
Track EHS compliance status and ensure timely and accurate completion of task requirements.
Review collection and recordkeeping practices related to EHS matters.
Compile and submit internal and external reports as specified by EHS requirements.
Makes decisions regarding own work, often in ambiguous situations; makes recommendations regarding own function/discipline.
Works on problems of moderate complexity.
Uses independent judgment within defined policies and practices. Interprets guidelines; selects methods, techniques, and analytical approach.
Little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
May be designated project or technical lead for an ongoing process or short-term project within the EHS Department.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred, will consider 10+ years’ experience in lieu of degree.
Requires 5+ years’ experience in EHS, in an industrial environment such as chemical manufacturing. Experience in the power industry is preferred.
Solid, working knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to all Environmental, Health and Safety, with an emphasis in Health and Safety.
Must have valid CA Driver’s license.
Ability to overnight travel 10% of the time and utilize company vehicle to travel between the local Geysers facilities daily.
