Position Summary:

Reporting into the COO, the DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging) Director will be a key partner in driving the organization's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging by developing and sustaining impactful DEIB programs, embedding IHI's values across systems and processes, and utilizing data-driven insights to continually improve training and resources. This role focuses on ensuring a culture of inclusivity, providing strategic direction for DEIB initiatives, and working collaboratively across departments to make equity an integral part of IHI's operations and actions worldwide.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develops, maintains, improves, and sunsets IHI's DEIB training, initiatives, and supporting resources for all staff across the globe based on feedback loops and other data driven insights
  • Provides recommendations and strategic direction, sustainability, and operational planning related to DEIB initiatives
  • Partner with teams and departments across the organization to assure IHI values, including equity, are embedded in all of our systems, processes, and actions

Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of DEIB principles, practices, and current trends within organizations
  • Knowledge of strategies to develop and sustain DEIB initiatives within an organization
  • Proficiency in using data to inform and drive DEIB initiatives, including understanding feedback loops
  • Ability to provide strategic direction and operational planning related to DEIB within compliance
  • Expertise in developing, maintaining, and improving DEIB training, initiatives, and resources
  • Ability to leverage data and feedback to inform decisions and improve DEIB processes
  • Competence in managing multiple DEIB projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to act as a DEIB subject matter expert, providing input and guidance to leadership and advisory groups

Position Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Professional-level written and verbal English proficiency
  • 10-15 Years of experience in:
  • DEI programming (Design, Develop, and Deliver)
  • DEIB Project Management
  • Coaching and advising operational systems from a DEIB lens
  • Technology:
  • Microsoft:
  • Intermediate: Teams, Outlook, Word, PPT, Excel
  • Other:
  • Cloud based Project Planning Tools (like Smartsheet)

Preferred

  • Experience in organizations within non-profit and/or consulting
  • Experience working in a fully remote and/or global organizations

Travel

  • Occasional Travel Required

Physical Attributes

  • Ability to Sit for Extended Periods: Capability to work at a desk for long durations
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using a computer, including typing, mouse handling, and other office equipment
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to read and view a computer screen for extended periods
  • Hearing and Speaking: Clear communication over phone and video calls
  • Environment Setup: Access to a quiet, professional home office setup conducive to focused work and virtual meetings
  • Lifting: Occasionally requires lifting up to 25 lbs as needed
