Job Description
The UCSD Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is seeking one or more non-tenure track temporary Lecturers. Lecturers will teach undergraduate courses in all content areas, most particularly in computer architecture and hardware, artificial intelligence and machine learning, discrete math and algorithms, software engineering, and basic programming and data structures.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Master's degree in a computing, math, or engineering discipline OR Bachelor's degree in a computing, math, or engineering discipline and two years of industry experience in a computing, math, or engineering fields.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Minimum of one quarter or semester teaching one or more courses, either as Instructor of Record or as a Teaching Assistant or equivalent industry experience in engineering in fields such as a minimum presenting one or more seminars, or conducting one or more trainings.

UCSD operates on the quarter system and the academic year has three quarters. Fall quarter is late September through end of December; Winter quarter is January through mid March; Spring quarter is late March through late June. Which quarters are you available to teach?

Statement of Teaching - A statement that describes prior teaching experience, provides evidence of effective teaching, and makes clear which courses the application is qualified to teach. Providing student evaluations in this statement, or as a separate submission is strongly encouraged.
