Position Summary
The Associate Director supports the Director of the Housing & Shelter with a variety of managerial responsibilities, including oversight of planning, monitoring, and evaluation. This includes managing special projects, as assigned by the Director and the supervision of reporting staff. The Associate Director is a critical member of the Shelter Management Team and will facilitate the mission of providing emergency shelter, supportive services, and solutions to homelessness.
Some of the duties include:
· Assist Director in program development, alignment, execution, and evaluation of performance-based outcomes and results for effective and efficient service delivery
· Oversee program compliance with contracts, Council on Accreditation standards, LMM policies and procedures, and other internal quality and compliance related assignments
· Oversee shelter operations and safety strategies, supervise Manager of Operations, interface with community partners and stakeholders
· Represent Shelter with stakeholders including local businesses, partners, and volunteer groups both onsite (walk throughs and events) and in the community
· Assist in writing funding requests and reports to foundations and public funders
· Oversee data practices, system implementation, supervise the data team and conduct trends analysis
· Assist in timely reporting and data gathering for relevant data requests
· Serve as the Clients Rights Officer and oversee the grievance process including documentation, tracking, and trending analysis
· Develop program-specific policies and procedures in consultation with Director and shelter staff
· Proven ability managing crisis situations and guiding others in effective response strategies
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and a minimum of five years of management experience in social services, with a strong focus on housing stability and homelessness prevention. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Housing First philosophy, along with insight into mental health, and the systemic issues contributing to homelessness. This candidate has proven experience in overseeing operations related to safety and compliance, effectively managing crisis situations, and guiding teams in response strategies. Proficiency in data management and Microsoft Office applications is essential, has reliable transportation and a valid Ohio driver’s license.
