Job Description

The Production Supervisor will oversee our organization's assembly operations on 2nd shift. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and able to ensure that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process while monitoring employees and organizing workflows. This individual must be highly skilled in complex operations and able to comprehend the multifaceted nature of the manufacturing process. The ability to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing costs is also essential to ensure maximum quality and efficiency. This role is essential to our overall corporate objectives to ensure that the production processes result in products of maximum quality with maximum profits.

 

Major Responsibilities

 

  • Ability to set daily/weekly/monthly goals, communicating them effectively to employees
  • Strong knowledge of organizational workflow and ability to delegate by assigning responsibilities and formulating schedules
  • Adhering to Six Sigma principles and tracking/reporting daily/weekly departmental KPI’s.
  • Supervisory skills needed to oversee employees and coach them effectively
  • Commitment to safety regarding the use of equipment
  • Knowledge of all essential equipment and ability to oversee and schedule regular maintenance
  • Analytical skills to monitor production output and check for compliance with specifications
  • Ability to generate and submit reports on performance and progress
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to spot issues in efficiency/productivity and suggest improvements
  • Strong coaching and training skills to onboard new employees, including instruction on safety, e.g. how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
  • Willingness to enforce compliance with safety guidelines and company standards
  • Exchange information and work together on projects with the 1st Shift Supervisor daily.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $80,000-$85,000

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience working within a machine manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of (5) years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of (3) years supervisory experience.

  • Understanding and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and assembly process
  • Dexter Leadership Skills:  People Leadership, Thought Leadership and Results Leadership. 
  • Mastery of Lean Manufacturing Tool Box:  Value Stream Mapping, Facilitating Kaizen Events, Visual Workplace, FIFO, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving skills: uses rigorous logic and methods to solve problems producing effective solutions to problem statements.
  • Excellent time management skills: concentrating effort on priorities and overall planning, awareness and response to what is due now, short and long term.
  • Strong computing skills: i.e.Power Point, Excel, Technical researching, ERP Data Analysis for buying patterns and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • High level of business acumen: Understands policies, practices, technology, trends and information and how those affect the business.
  • Works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated history in achieving production success through leading a continuous improvement culture
  • Possess a working understanding of Lean tools and methods with respect to production environments
