Position Overview:
The Senior Director of Enterprise Data Management is a strategic
leadership role responsible for developing and executing the enterprise data
strategy to support organizational goals. This position is pivotal in
transforming data into a strategic asset that drives business growth and
innovation. The Senior Director will collaborate with cross-functional leaders
to align data initiatives with business priorities, drive innovation, and
ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise data management strategy that enhances operational efficiency and supports data-driven decision-making across the organization.Serve as a thought leader in data management, providing insights and guidance on emerging trends and technologies.Collaborate with executive leadership to promote a data-driven culture across the organization.Data Governance and Compliance:Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with DFARS, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, and other relevant regulations.Drive initiatives to maintain high levels of data quality, security, and privacy.Data Architecture and Integration:Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures in collaboration with IT teams to ensure alignment with technological advancements and business needs.Oversee data integration efforts to ensure seamless flow and accessibility of information across systems.Collaborate with IT teams to modernize data platforms and enable advanced analytics capabilities.Analytics and Business Intelligence:Partner with business units to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver actionable insights.Promote the use of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI to drive decision-making and innovation.Lead the development and deployment of self-service analytics tools.Integrate digital engineering principles to optimize data processes, enhance analytics capabilities, and streamline decision-making workflows.Team Leadership and Development:Build and lead a high-performing team of data professionals, including data architects, engineers, analysts, and governance experts.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the data organization.Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships effectively.Stakeholder Collaboration:Act as a liaison between business units, IT, and external partners to ensure alignment on data initiatives.Facilitate effective communication of data strategies, goals, and progress to stakeholders at all levels.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.10+ years of progressive experience in data management, data governance, or analytics. including 5+ years in a leadership role.Proven track record of managing data in compliance with DFARS, NIST, CMMC, and other relevant regulations.Proven track record of developing and executing enterprise data strategies.Deep understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles, and regulatory compliance requirements.Strong expertise in data architecture/data integration (e.g., modern/emerging database technology, data lakes, data warehouses, containerized architecture), and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).Experience with advanced analytics tools and techniques, including AI and machine learning.Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
